A Quick Funny.....or Two!

I had to share a couple of funny things that Brooke said yesterday.

When I was heading downstairs yesterday morning, I asked Brooke if she wanted to come with me. (She was watching TV at the kitchen counter after breakfast). She replied "No mommy....Dora lost her necklace and I have to help her find it!"

Brooke LOVES Dora the Explorer! But, what was funny to me is how serious she was yesterday when she told me she was going to help her find her necklace. It was a SERIOUS problem and they needed Brookie's help!

CUTE!

The other thing that Brooke does that is so funny is covering all of her "owies" with bandaids! I know...most kids go through the phase of having to have a bandaid on every owie they have regardless if it is a real one or not! I think it is cute! Sometimes it does get frustrating...but usually it's only when we need a bandaid for a REAL owie and we don't have one because they have all been used up on our fake owies! But....that rarely happens because I have learned after three kiddos that you HAVE to keep several boxes of bandaids on hand!

Yesterday, Brooke wanted to show me all of her "owies"!

She even had ones on her eyes!

She's SO FUNNY!

Wishing it was Flip Flop Weather!

I ran across these pictures today and it made me long for flip flop wearing weather!!!!\

Grandma Johnson treated the girls (or at least Mad and Ash) to a manicure and pedicure last summer! The LOVED it!

I LOVE it too!

I can't wait until it's time to get them again because it is time to wear flip flops!!!

I don't usually spend the money on mani's and pedi's during the winter months because I'm not wearing shoes that show off my toes!

But I LOVE to get them in the spring and summer when the weather is perfect for shoes that show off my pretty (and expensive) toesies!

Spring is SOOOO close!

The cold weather has calmed down

...but now we have rain!

I AM THANKFUL FOR THE RAIN!

But...

It does make it hard to take the dog on a walk...

and let the kids outside to play...

and start prunning my flower garden (that is currently all dead)!

But...

I'm still thankful for the rain...

and for the birds singing in the morning...

and for Spring closing in on us...

and for the chance to get manicures and pedicures...

and for the opportunity to wear those flip flops that I'm so longing to wear!

Ashlyn Turns Six

Our Ashlyn is SIX!

Wow...I can hardly believe it has been six years since my little baby Ash was born!

She was such a CUTE baby...

She was NOT an EASY baby... she had reflux her whole first year of life and boy did that STINK... literally!
We used receiving blankets as burb rags!....and sometimes that didn't even do the job!

We celebrated her birthday at school on Thursday (her actually birthday) by bringing treats to her class. We had lollipop snacks...they were very good! Get the recipe here.


And we finished celebrating over the weekend.

with friends at Chuck E Cheese! UGH! I'm so glad that place is only a once in a while destination. It was PACKED...and we went at 3:30 in the afternoon... however, it was a Saturday, so we probably should have expected it.

Ashlyn had "begged" to go to Chuck E Cheese for her birthday... and she has been asking non-stop to go and see Dalton, Zach, Brandi and Shawn! So, we incorporated both into her birthday celebration. The Hobbs (Brandi was our daycare when we lived in Hutch) met us at Chuck E Cheese and we got to catch up with them. We also invited the Nikkel's to join us.

It was pretty fun...at least for the kids. They played LOTS of games.

Kyler had to "cheat" a little, but that was okay.
And we opened presents...
And, we saw Chucky!
Brooke REALLY liked Chucky...especially his big nose!

We ended the celebration with family on Sunday afternoon.

Ashlyn got lots of cool presents... mostly clothes, crafts and hair accessories, etc. I was VERY happy about that! THINGS SHE CAN USE AND CREATE!!!! Yeah!
She finished the afternoon off by blowing out her candle on her birthday cake!

What a great birthday weekend! Happy Birthday my Ashlyn!

Play-Doh

Do you like play-doh?

It seems like most people hate play doh...mainly because of the mess that it makes.

I would definitely agree that it does make a mess...but, I have to admit...I LOVE play doh!

I like the way it squishes in your hand, and the fun things you can create (especially with all the fun new tools that they have). Why didn't they have those when I was a kid!

We play with play-doh in our house...however, it has to be a supervised activity! I'm not sure why, but I HATE when the colors get mixed!!! So, I usually help the girls so that they don't accidently mix the colors because some of our play-doh toys you have to take a knife to get all the play-doh out of the contraption before you put a new color in! However, I do have to watch Brookie as she will smoosh the colors together on purpose! UGH! But I guess I can't expect perfection out of a three year old!

We got a new toy this Christmas that makes burgers and french fries!
