Pig Faces

I have been baking and baking. I LOVE it! It's therapy or something.

We made pig faces!

I really thought this would be fun for the girls to help me with.
However, I was W R O N G! It was STRESSFUL - not helpful!
Just too many details for them to handle. They ended up giving up and telling me to do it!

But the end result was good. So cute! Almost too cute to eat.

Well, not really! Brooke didn't have any trouble...
Dylan wasn't so sure at first
...but warmed up to the idea after awhile.

If you wanna give these a try... check out my cooking blog for the recipe!

Eating the Rainbow!

I found this idea on Megan's blog and just had to try it!

It looked so GOOD and YUMMY and FUN to make!

I had such great helpers...

**Pay no attention to that small little finger in the green cake mix... (I mean isn't that the BEST part)

Making this cake was a breeze! You can find the recipe here.
Putting the cake together... not so bad!

Frosting the cake from top to bottom... well.... that was definitely the HARDEST part!

But the BEST part was....
EATING IT! It just made you smile!

Sunday Pancakes and Coffee...

Sunday morning is the only morning that we get to relax. Church doesn't start until 10:30 and so we have the whole morning to chill out and enjoy without the rush of getting kids ready for anything, having a quick cereal breakfast and rushing out the door!

We usually spend the morning reading the paper and drinking coffee. But this last Sunday, the girls asked their daddy if he would make pancakes and he just couldn't resist their sweet request. (they did ask very sweetly - it was cute!)

So we got spoiled this last Sunday with pancakes...

and the girls even got to share some of daddy's coffee too!

Baby Drake

Baby Drake is here!

He was born on Monday, Nov. 9th at 1:27 am. He weighed 6 lbs 8 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.

Mom and Dad are very proud parents!... I think Uncle Chris is pretty proud too!

Mini Cheerleaders

The girls participated in a mini cheer clinic a few weeks ago and then showed off what they learned at one of the home football games...

They had a blast cheering their little hearts out.

Editing pics

so I've had lots of questions regarding how I edit photos...

i use the website Picnik, which is really cool and allows me to do alot of different types of things. I did pay for the advanced version of it, but some of their editing options are free.

here is few samples of some "before and after" pics - so you can get and idea of what I do.

this one was a fun one (i used a temporary edit for halloween that was called crystal ball) I thought it was most appropriate for Dorothy!

Some of the before pics are turned (I have to rotate a lot of my pics)... this one I added a mirror imaging at the bottom.

this one was cropped closer and brightened.

this one was a lot of fun... first I cropped it... then I turned it black and white, but I left Brooke in color. Thought that was really unique!

this I added a unique border and made it in sepia.

this one I cropped and made black and white... I also added some wording. Probably is one of my favorites!

Halloween

This Halloween was sooo nice! I was so thankful that it fell on Saturday. When it falls on a weeknight, it is very stressful for me! I think that's because I have to get the kids fed supper, dressed and ready, trick or treating and then cleaned up and back in bed at a decent time so they will be ready for school the next day. This Halloween was so relaxing. We took afternoon naps... and spent an hour just getting our hair done at Aunt Mindy's... we took our time driving to family members to go trick or treating... we came home to walk the neighborhood... we went home and ate supper, got cleaned up and even had a few hours before we had to go to bed! It was wonderful... and there was no stress whatsoever! Loved it! Loved getting an extra hour of sleep too! Lastly... loved that there were NO princess costumes this year! Yeah! That is hard when you have girls!

Maddie as a gypsy...

Ashlyn as Hannah Montana...
A quick funny regarding that wig... We wore the wig for the school parade and to one house on Halloween night. After that, it was beginning to stress me out (it wouldn't stay on and it looked rediculous)... so we ditched the wig. Daddy said to Ashlyn "maybe you can just be Miley" (that's Hannah Montana's real name when she is not performing... Miley has dark hair unlike Hannah's blonde hair... and yes, we know it is SAD that we know all this!) Anyways... Ashlyn says back "Daddy, Miley has long hair... I have short hair... I'm not Miley... I'm still Ashlyn." Cracked us up! The things this child says... she is so witty!

Lastly... our Brookie as Dorothy... and she carried Toto the whole night long!
She wasn't so sure about this candy jar... she knows that the hand is going to get her!
